These are the kinds of films that make us rant about all the cartoons and the movies that we watch today to lack that magical element. SO let's dive into the memory lane of 7 Most Nostalgic 90's films that needs a Rewatch(ASAP)! such wonderful films:
7. Lion King (1994)
Plot
Simba, a young lion cub who is the Prince of Pride Rock is cast out of his pride by his cruel uncle, who claims he killed his father. While the uncle seizes the throne and rules with an iron paw, the prince grows up beyond the Savannah in an unknown jungle with two wannabe friends, living by a philosophy: No worries for the remainder of your days. But when he remembers his past and destiny, the young prince must decide his fate: Will he remain an outcast and ignore his destiny or face his demons and become what he needs to be?
Verdict
HAKUNA MATATA! I've never met someone who hasn't heard of this phrase before. This resonates back to my childhood when I really did have no worries about doing things at my pace as I deem fit. The setting is beautiful, the songs were amazing and it's clearly a complete package of pure joy and laughter. Timon & Pumbaa were the most notable characters who led their own spin-off show which was equally good.
6. Honey, I Shrunk the Kids 1989 (movie series)
Plot
An avid scientist and inventor just can't seem to get his shrinking machine to work. Then, when he accidentally shrinks his kids down to inches and throws them out in the trash accidentally, the real adventure begins for the kids. Now they face dangerous hurdles as they try to make their way back to the machine to become normal through the jungle of their own backyard: hurricane sprinklers, dive-bombing bees, a runaway lawnmower, insects and a lot more to watch out for....
Verdict
This was an adventure movie that was so relatable back in the day, I'm sure most of us felt our imagination tingling at least I did. It was around that time when I stole a lens from a microscope and just looked at things all day. This movie struck me hard, Imagine all the chocolate you could eat if you were small. Clearly, I got hooked onto the microscopic world and its wonders because of this movie and I don't regret spending a minute.

5. The Mummy 1999 (Brendan Fraser series)
Plot
An English historian and librarian called Evelyn Carnahan is intrigued in starting an archaeological dig at the lost ancient city of Hamunaptra. She gains the help of Rick O'Connell (an American soldier), after saving him from his execution. What Evelyn, her brother Jonathan and Rick are unaware of is that another group of explorers are interested in the same dig. Unfortunately for everyone, this group ends up unleashing a curse which been laid on the dead High Priest Imhotep which brings forth apocalypse with it. Now 'The Mummy' is awake and it's going to take a lot more than guns and man power to send him back to where he came from.
Verdict
Brendan Fraser is like that funny uncle in every family. His acting was amazing, and tbh he is the flame of the series. The entire scene where he fights with the mummy and his connection with Evelyn is soo captivating that you'll smile all the way through the film. I actually got scared because of those flesh-eating bugs and it scared me for life but that's a debate for another topic lol. 😅
4. Jumanji / Zathura (1995/2005)
Jumanji's Plot
When young Alan Parrish discovers a mysterious board game, he doesn't realize its unimaginable powers until he is magically transported before his friend Sarah who plays with him into the untamed wilderness of Jumanji. He is lost there for 26 years when two children finally free him from the game's spell by adding their characters. Now a grown man, Alan reunites with Sarah, and they and the children try to outwit the game's powerful forces and win it inorder to get back their normal lives.
Verdict
Personally I prefer Jumanji over Zathura cause of Robin Williams, but both these films are based on the same storyline. What if a simple board game is real, everybody must've felt to be a hero in something. Like in a movie, you imagine yourself playing that lead character that's what makes movies captivates, now what if it could be possible. This sets the narrative for both Zathura and Jumanji, and that is why they are so adorable.

3. Jurassic Park 1993 (Steven Spielberg series)
Plot
Paleontologists Ellie Sattler and Alan Grant, philosopher and mathematician Ian Malcolm are among a select group chosen to tour an island theme park populated by dinosaurs created from the prehistoric DNA obtained from a mosquito. While the park's mastermind, billionaire John Hammond, assures everyone that the facility is safe, they find out otherwise when various ferocious predators break free and go on the hunt. Now they must survive the island as Life Finds A Way!
Verdict
Now this movie right here was the stuff of nightmares, I thought the dinosaurs were real and actually existed at that time, but it's amazing to see what feats humans are capable of when they put their mind and money into it. Being a Spielberg film they didn't back down on either of them. The spin-offs we get now are nowhere near the initial parts of the series which is quite disappointing but we should be grateful nonetheless for movies like these.
2. Home Alone (1990)
Plot
It is Christmas time and the McCallister family is preparing for a vacation in Paris. But the youngest in the family, Kevin, got into a fight with his older brother Buzz and was sent to his room, which is on the third floor of his house. Then, the next morning, while the rest of the family was in a rush to make it to the airport on time, they completely forgot about Kevin and abandon him, who now has the house all to himself. Being home alone was fun for Kevin, until he discovers about two burglars, Harry and Marv, who plan to rob his house on Christmas Eve. Kevin acts quickly by shifting his own house with makeshift booby traps to stop the burglars and bring them to justice.
Verdict
I think home alone is a cult classic, even enjoyed by children in the coming generations its just that good, its witty, funny and the characters are adorable. Although i cant say the same for the remaining parts of the franchise, the first part really stood out as a tradition for children and parents alike to watch on a Christmas eve. The movie's theatrical element relies heavily on the antagonist's reactions to Kevin's traps and they aced it. As expected of Joe Pesci ofc! ✌
