Those who say Cricket is a Batsman's game, don't know Cricket. Those who say Test match is Dull and Boring, don't know the Beauty of the game. Test match has its fair share of nail-biting and tense finishes, where the result is incredibly close. The best is a perspective. Here, I am writing what are the Top 10 Test Cricket Matches Of The Century I feel and hope you all agree with it.
10. Srilanka Vs South Africa (Durban, 2019)
Historic win by an Asian team in South Africa. Sri Lanka replied 191-10 to South Africa 235-10 in first innings of test match. on chasing 300 plus runs in the fourth innings in South Africa against South Africa it needs a special skill. Kusal Perera played a career defining innings of 153 runs and remained unbeaten. It laid 1-0 foundation to historic victory by an Asian team in South Africa. Result: Sri Lanka won by 1 wicket.

9. South Africa Vs Australia (Perth, 2008)
South Africa replied 281-10 to Australia's 375-10 in the first innings of the game. The home team set visitors a total of 414 runs in the 4th innings of the game. On chasing 400 plus runs, SA batsmen rose to the occasion. Smith and de villiers scored centuries. On day 5 requiring to chase 180 runs, they comfortably chased down despite the likes of pace Brett Lee, Siddle, Johnson. Amla and kallis scored half centuries. Result : SA won by 6 wickets.
8. India Vs Australia (Sydney, 2021)
Absence of first choice players, players injured half way through the match, a couple of injury players battling out to save a test match against the best pace attack in the world. The visitors replied 244-10 to Australia's 338-10 in the first innings of the game. Then the home team set the visitors a total of 400 plus runs in the fourth innings of the match. A match came to the charm of day 5 again. Indian openers came well but eventually sent back. Then Pujara and Pant took the charge. A Sage and a Butcher at work. Pant thrashed the opposition. while Pujara played patiently. After pant and pujara gone. It was left to injured Ashwin and Vihari, they have no choice but to draw. A game that showed mental strength of the Indian cricket to the world. Result : Match Drawn.
7. South Africa Vs Australia (Adelaide, 2012)
Aussies gained a first innings lead of 160 plus runs in the match played at Adelaide. Likewise to its first innings, Australia played an aggressive approach and were all out for 250. The home team set visitors a total of 430 runs in the fourth innings of a test match. South Africa were left to two choices. They should either chase 430 runs to win or completely bat out 148 overs. They chose the second one. But playing for draw was never an easy task. A couple of special players are in their lineup, ABD and Faf rose to the occasion. They together played 600 balls that is close to 100 overs. faf got a Debut century and ABD faced 222 balls and scored 35 runs. It was a marathon of innings of defense and immense patience against a quality attack. Result: Match Drawn.
6. England Vs Australia (Cardiff, 2009)
You can't keep Ashes out of Top 10 Test Cricket Matches of the century long, Can you? Yes, It is Ashes Again. Another Day 5 charm in the Test Cricket. Australia replied 674-6 to England's 435 all out in first innings. On trailing 239 runs, England batting lineup was absolute debacle. Collingwood fought hard facing 245 balls and scored 74 runs. He made partnerships with everyone down the order. On the last session of Day 5 match, with the match on brink of the draw, Peter Siddle took the wicket of Collingwood. England were stranded for 233 runs with one wicket in hand. And the trail is still 6 runs more. The Day 5 play was 30 minutes more. Australia were favorites in this game now. There is a twist in the 'Tail' now. The last two batsmen, Jimmy Anderson and Monty Panesar lasted till the end of play and with a lead of 13 runs. Result: Match Drawn.
5. India Vs Australia (Brisbane, 2021)
An Indian team struggling to find 11 Fit players, with their main players gone, and a series decider on one side. Many players have played either 2 or 3 test matches and some players made their Debut. And the batting line up is relatively inexperienced. The young talents like Gill, Pant, Shradul, Sundar, Siraj, Natarajan and 'The Modern Wall' Pujara made a fairytale come true. Australia never lost in Gabba stadium for almost 32 years. To get into the details, Australia scored 369 after opting to bat. India were Stranded to 186 runs with 6 wickets gone. Australia were hoping a big fat lead for the second innings. But Shradul and Debutant Sundhar had put up a 123 run stand and each completed half centuries. They played fearless cricket. The home team set visitors a total of 328 runs on Day 5 test match. Pujara gave Sweat, Blood and he had taken nearly 10 body blows. Gill and Pujara laid foundation. And then Rishab Pant carried the team to winning reins by an unbeaten 89. The Gabratoir has been Breached after 32 years by an inexperienced young debutant line up. History was created at Gabba. Despite the racial slurs, injuries and no main players, India won the series 2-1. Indian cricket future is in safe hands. Result: India won by 3 wickets.
4. West Indies Vs Bangladesh (Chattogram, 2021)
Day 5 of a test match is the pinnacle of the Sport, untouched and unfazed by the sycophancy of commercial cricket. To get into the details, Visitors were bowled out for 259 in reply to the Bangladesh's 430 in the first innings. The home team set Visitors a total of 394 runs in the fourth innings. Based on the continuous flop show of the west indies cricket team, A win for the Bangladesh is a Cakewalk. And the final Innings began. The top 3 batsmen were sent back in quick successions. A Hero emerged on Day 5, When all hope was dead and buried, and pulled the west indies out of a hole, with a 4th innings double-hundred in Asia on debut. Read that Again. The name is Kyle Mayers. Mayers and Bonner put up a 216 run stand and kept the hopes of west indies alive. After Bonner got out, Mayers put up a century stand with Da Silva. And sealed the match. Remember the name - Kyle Mayers. Result: West Indies won by 3 wickets.
3. India Vs Australia (Kolkata, 2001)
We have witnessed one of the best test match of the century in the beginning itself. The home team was bowled out for 171 in reply to the Australia's 445 in the first innings of the test. India were asked to follow on. Australia were under the brink of victory. Indian openers came strong but Australia continued to chip away, even as Laxman toiled at one end. The Big Hope, Sachin Tendulkar and local hero Sourav Ganguly were both sent back. What happened next was once in a century. Laxman and Dravid both batted and batted, and batted. They both kept Australia out on the field the whole day. Suddenly, entire India felt something they hadn't in a while - Belief! India declared 657-7 with just two sessions left. well, Courage is an Infectious thing. Harbhajan Singh took a brilliant 6-73. The most iconic moment in the Indian history and it was the catalyst for a braver India. Result : India won by 171 runs.
2. England Vs Australia Ashes (Headingley, 2019)
Ashes Again! what an Amazing game test cricket is. This time the home team chasing. England bowled out for 67 and trail by 112 runs in the first innings. The visitors set a total of 358 runs for the home team in the fourth innings of the game. England lost its openers early. Root and Denly put together a 126 stand but eventually both sent back. Stokes and Bairstow had a 80 run stand. Things were pretty much in England control. Then the Debacle started. England were stranded for 286 runs and 9 wickets. But the Cricket Gods laughed. You cannot create History by planning it, all it needed is a little spark. Visitors had no idea that they were going to get Stoked. with the help of Jack leach's support, Stokes went all out on opposition. Nathon Lyon had Stokes plumbed in front, but the umpire has other opinions. Australia got no review left. Lyon missed an easy Run-out in tense. Ten Englishmen agreed, one refused. Result: England won by 1 wicket.
1. England Vs Australia Ashes (Edgbaston, 2005)
Ashes produced one of the most memorable tests in the history of the game as England beat Australia by 2 runs. The home team set the Visitors a Total of 282 to win in the fourth innings of the game. Australia on approaching the total lost Ponting early. The visitors had stumbled to 175-8 and then something extraordinary happened. Tailenders Shane Warne and Brett Lee dragged it to 220 and lost another wicket. Spoiler! It ain't over yet. Then, Brett Lee and Michael Kasprowicz took the charge and had partnership of 59 runs and there is our final twist in the tale. Unfortunately, they couldn't make it. Result: England won by 2 runs. Heartbreak to Australian Fans and team. And England levelled the series 1-1 and avoided whitewash in the end.
